What If...?

What if they were both born to a different family, one that was not the Montague's or Capulet's?
Would they have to still be secret? Or would they be free to love each other openly?
What if they were born to the same family?
Would they still have fallen in love? Or would they fall in love with different people?
What if their families were not fighting in the first place?
Would they still fall in love? Or was their love only there because it was forbidden?
What if there was a greater gap between their age?
Would they even be interested in each other? Or would they find their love repulsive?
What if Romeo never met Juliet?
Would he still be moping over Rosaline? Or would he have moved on anyway?
What if Paris killed Romeo instead?
Would Juliet morn the death of Romeo forever? Or would she marry Paris?
What if Mantua is not quarantined because of the plague, and Friar Lawrence’s letter gets to Romeo safely?
Would Romeo live? Or would he still die?
What if Romeo never got the poison or never bought a weapon to Juliet's grave?
Would he find another way to kill himself? Or would he live to see her wake?
What if Romeo never killed Tybalt?
Would his and Juliet's marriage be accepted? Or would it just be seen as a disgrace to both families?
What if Juliet married Paris?
Would  Romeo kill himself? Or would he accept the marriage and go back to Rosaline?
What if Friar Lawrence stayed at the grave and met Romeo to explain the plan?
Would Romeo think he was lying about Juliet's death? Or would Romeo believe him?
What if Romeo and Juliet ran away?
Would they have the run for the rest of their life? Or would it be peaceful where they could live together forever?
All those what ifs but Romeo and Juliet met fate in every one of those dilemmas.
